Palace at Versailles, France

We spent some time at the Chateau at Versailles just outside Paris a few years ago on our 11 month vacation. It has 700 rooms, over 1,700 fireplaces, located on a 2,100 estate. Marie Antoinette the Queen of France was later jailed and beheaded and may have started the French Revolution, with her diamond necklace of 647 diamonds. The Palace gets over 3 million visitors a year, it was the political center of France and seat of the Royal Family MA lived there over 10 years. In 1920 John D.
